Flying after Mommy makeover: How to Prepare and Stay Comfortable

Posted by Aesthetic Surgical Images

If you are planning to fly after a recent mommy makeover you need to have in mind some advice to avoid risks
Plastic surgeons recommend flying after 2 weeks as a minimum after your mommy's makeover

It’s common for a mommy makeover to include Omaha breast augmentation and a tummy tuck. After months of preparation and self-care, it’s travel time! Many people don’t realize that flying after a mommy makeover requires special considerations if you have just had it – unless you want to arrive at your destination in pain.

Flying after plastic surgery presents unique challenges and could be uncomfortable. Discomfort is an understatement if you’re not careful as swelling can be horrendous! But, it doesn’t have to be that way.

If you are wondering how long after cosmetic procedures can you fly, as a general rule we tell our patients that they are “grounded” for a minimum of 2 weeks after surgery (15 days after surgery). That holds for long car and bus trips as well. The problems with flying come from several aspects but mostly revolve around over-exertion, the increased risk of blood clots, pulmonary embolism, and deep vein thrombosis.

In this article, we will tell you how to properly prepare for a flight after an Omaha tummy tuck so you can stay comfortable and avoid rinks during takeoff and landing.

1. Prepare a Travel Plan

When planning a trip after getting a mommy makeover Omaha or any type of plastic surgery, it is important to think ahead and prepare. Before departure, check with your surgeon as soon as possible to create an individualized plan that meets all of your needs. Important details such as travel dates, airline tickets, and hotel reservations should be discussed and confirmed before the actual travel date.

2. Wear Comfortable Clothes

For flying with stitches after surgery, it is always important to wear comfortable clothes on board the aircraft or during other forms of transit to prevent any discomfort related to post-surgical swelling and tenderness. When traveling by plane, choose clothes made from lightweight materials like cotton blend fabric that can easily be shifted around if needed. Make sure these garments follow airline policies for fit and size so that you are allowed on board.

3. Compression Garment Wear

It is important to follow your surgeon’s instructions for recovery time after a mommy makeover. Depending on the procedures performed, such as breast implants Omaha, abdominoplasty, and liposuction, recovery times can vary. It is essential to give your body enough time to heal before flying after tummy tuck or other procedures in order to avoid any potential complications or discomfort. Make sure you wear the recommended compression garment throughout the flight for extra support and adhere to your surgeon’s post-operative instructions.

4. Stay Hydrated

Keeping yourself hydrated during long periods of travel is essential for avoiding discomfort due to post-procedure swelling, especially if flying up high in the sky where air pressure changes so rapidly within such a small amount of time. Drink plenty of fluids prior to takeoff which will not only help keep you comfortable during ascension but also provide an energy boost while trying to adjust your body position every so often while seated in economy class seating arrangements! Drink plenty of water also before sleeping so that dehydration won’t hinder restful nights on board airplane cabins yet again due to air pressure shifts at high speeds over long distances.

5. Check Your Seat

Before booking and boarding your flight, double-check what type of seat you have purchased for yourself and make sure that it suits your needs appropriately without causing any further harm or stress on your body after surgery. Depending on what kind of surgery you had done for the makeover, some seating options may be more suitable for recovery than others, such as having more room in economy class rather than a tight fit in first-class seats.

If you are wondering how to sit on a plane after tummy tuck surgery, it is important to follow the instructions of your surgeon. Depending on the type of abdominoplasty Omaha you had, you may need to sit in a certain way that will provide extra support and reduce any potential swelling or discomfort. It is recommended that you sit with your back straight and your legs slightly elevated, as this will help reduce pressure on the abdomen area.

6. Take Walks During Breaks

It is important to be aware of the risks of complications associated with flying after major surgery, such as a mommy makeover Omaha NE. The cabin pressure and changes in air pressure over long periods of time can cause discomfort and swelling, which can lead to further complications. It is important to follow your surgeon’s instructions carefully and take frequent breaks during travel to reduce the risk of any potential issues.

In flights or whilst traveling by other forms take frequent walks during breaks in between travel segments; those brief reprieves from being seated will allow your body some relief from post-operative swelling and sensitivity due to recent natural tissue re-arrangement procedures conducted during a simplified mommy makeover surgery procedure – this also makes more space afterward for performance activities such as running errands upon arriving back home!

7. Bring Pain Relievers Just In Case

It is important to be aware of the risks of complications associated with cosmetic surgeries, such as abdominal surgery (tummy tuck Omaha) or a mommy makeover. Pain medications can help reduce discomfort and swelling, but it is important to take them only as prescribed by your surgeon.

Taking your pain relievers for breast augmentation Omaha or other types of surgery before taking off can be brought along just in case there might arise certain levels of unforeseen discomfort resulting in permanent omissions aboard cabin crew operating matters – this ranges from abrupt magnitudes experienced inside plain interiors which are otherwise unascertained normal outside atmosphere making issues worse than initially thought out beforehand regarding one’s health and wellness matters total reliability.

8. Listen To Your Operator’s Recommendations

Be sure to listen closely to what other physicians may suggest concerning taking precautions abroad following recent medical operations undertaken by certified medical service providers – it could often turn out differently once overseas grounds get reached based on what original prognosis happened have been made (on paper). Seek out updates often whilst traveling henceforth even if the recuperation process looks well going otherwise!
