*Each patient is unique and individual results may vary.
BOTOX® been used therapeutically for nearly 20 years to treat a variety of medical conditions. Injections temporarily paralyze the very small muscles underneath the skin, effectively eliminating or minimizing:
- Frown lines in between the brows
- Forehead creases
- Crow’s feet near the eyes
- Wrinkles on the sides of the nose
- Plastysmal bands in the neck
During your consultation, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss your goals and ask questions about BOTOX as well as any other facial rejuvenation procedures that interest you. In Omaha, BOTOX has become an extremely popular procedure, and most people delight in their smoother, more refreshed appearance.
Your Botox® Procedure
BOTOX® injections are performed quickly and easily during an office visit, and our patients describe them as nearly painless. There is no downtime after your injections, and results are usually visible in 2-7 days. It’s important to understand that BOTOX injections treat only the problem areas and do not affect your ability to show facial expressions.
Post Treatment Instructions
The post treatment instructions following Botox injections are designed to minimize migration of Botox. When Botox migrates to surrounding structures, complications can occur including droopy eyelids. In an effort to avoid these complications a series of steps should be taken to avoid displacement of Botox.
In most cases providers recommend avoiding massage or manipulation of the injected areas because this might cause migration of Botox. In contrast many providers advise actively contracting these muscles to accelerate the onset of the response to Botox. In addition many providers recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours following injection. Exercise can increase blood flow and theoretically decrease the effect of Botox. Some providers recommend not lying down for at least four hours following Botox injections. This recommendation is somewhat controversial and not recommended by all providers.
Recommendations in the post treatment phase vary from provider to provider. It’s important to individualize treatment based on the patient’s specific needs.

“I have always been a ‘squinter’ and very expressive with my eyes. It was only a matter of time before my dad’s saying ‘don’t wrinkle your brow so much!’ to me as a kid came true. I went in and got Botox from Dr. Edney. He made sure to inform me that he wouldn’t make me look frozen and what the procedure entailed. He also told me of the possible side effects (though very rare) and allowed me to ask any questions I had. He has a kind manner and I trust his judgement. He did excellent work on me 2 years ago for my breast augmentation, so I already knew I was in good hands!”5 Stars
